Naopak – Flyability Elios najde své uplatnění především v průmyslu a u záchranných složek (policie, hasiči), kde dokáže prozkoumávat špatně dostupná místa a použití jeřábů, plošin či helikoptér by ve výsledku bylo nákladnější.

"Although they sound like something straight out of a Hollywood film, drone-catching eagles are actually something that has been used by the Dutch police. Many may wonder why something like this was needed, and even how these birds were taught to do their job. Police in the Netherlands began the training of these birds in 2016, but have now determined that they aren’t quite working out the way they anticipated.
In early 2016, Netherland police decided to train eagles to catch drones. The thought behind this was that the eagle’s sharp talons would be no match for a drone and they would be able to quickly pluck them from the sky. What actually happened, was the birds were distracted during training and not up to par with what was needed in the field.
The use of the birds was going to protect various air spaces from drones. Places such as airports and other secure areas where drones were not supposed to fly would be monitored, and if needed, an eagle would be sent to retrieve any drones that violated air laws. Since the eagles didn’t always do as they were expected to, it made it hard on the cops to safely send the birds into these restricted areas. Many animal lovers also feared that the eagles would be injured by the fast-moving blades if they were only slightly off aim on their target drone."

"One year ago, I hoped to be able to say to you now that drone journalism took off in 2017.  This year, Poynter — along with the National Press Photographers Association, The Drone Journalism Lab at the University of Nebraska and DJI — taught nearly 400 journalists how to legally and safely fly. But the never-ending flow of local and state restrictions and the slow response of the FAA to airspace waiver requests keep drones from being the daily tool they can be. There is reason to believe 2018 will give those of us who are licensed drone pilots more freedom to fly.
In July, the FAA announced that in 2018, it will be rolling out a new "instant waiver" program that should allow you to get an airspace waiver in minutes. The system is called the LAANC (Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability) program. ..... And the FAA produced a map that makes it easier to see what kinds of restrictions you will encounter where you want to fly.
This year, drones also gave journalists the ability to document the floods and destruction from hurricanes and the devastation that California wildfires left behind.
I asked some of the people who I taught with this year to give us a glimpse of where drone journalism stands and where we are heading. Our gurus include:

Certifikátový program "Technologie pro bezpilotní létání" na ZČU v Plzni.
Ve školním roce 2017-18 startuje na Západočeské univerzitě v Plzni (ZČUcertifikátový program výuky bezpilotního letectví. Cílem je seznámit studenty s technologiemi používanými při návrhu, konstrukci, stavbě, provozu, řízení a využívání bezpilotních leteckých prostředků, dále s nezbytnou legislativou.

Program je koncipován tak, aby studenti získali nezbytný široký přehled obsažený v povinných přehledových předmětech jednotlivých technických fakult a předmětu vyučovaném pracovníky DRONETu (součást Správy informačních technologií města Plzně, příspěvkové organizace). Tento předmět obsahuje praktické informace související se stavbou i provozem dronů – legislativu i letovou praxi. Dále si studenti rozvinou tento široký podklad pomocí povinně volitelných předmětů.

Úpravy fotografií - Photomatix Pro 6

Drony a fotografie patří neodmyslitelně k sobě. Téma úpravy fotografií, je proto předmětem pozornosti většiny pilotů dronů. Existují různé způsoby zpracování fotografií pořízených z kamery dronu. Mezi umělecky nejpřitažlivější patří zpracování t. zv. HDR fotografií
Pro uživatele, kteří nejsou obeznámeni s HDR, doporučuji k prostudování velmi pěkný a užitečný článek Josefa Krause, publikovaný na portálu "živě.cz". Text byl pořízen v roce 2011, což znamená, že nemohl postihnout nejnovější verzi, nicméně jeho obsah je převážně stále aktuální. Článek nese název: "Photomatix: Specialista na HDR fotografie".

Introduction
"Photomatix Pro works with photographs of the same scene taken under different exposure settings. These differently exposed images of the same scene are often called “bracketed” images in reference to the autobracketing exposure functions available on many camera models. 
Taking Photos for HDR
The shooting phase is essential for getting good results with Photomatix Pro. To photograph a high contrast scene, you need to take several exposures in order to capture information in both the highlights and the shadows of the scene. The exposures taken must properly cover the dynamic range of the scene, especially the shadows.
The number of photos you need depends on the scene. It also depends on the Exposure Value (EV) spacing separating the photos. If you take them in one-EV steps (e.g., -1, 0, +1 EV), you will need more photos than if you take them in two-EV steps (e.g., -2, 0, +2 EV).
We recommend shooting in two-EV steps whenever possible.
High contrast scenes can be grouped into roughly two types depending on their dynamic range.
The source photographs for HDR processing can be taken with digital or film-based cameras. The only requirement is that the exposure can be adjusted when taking pictures. If you use a film-based camera, you will need to scan the photographs into your computer before processing them."

- Avoid overdoing it
If you want a more realistic look, you can blend your original photo with the HDR rendered image. You can also use a brush to blend specific areas with the original photo, or one of the other photos from a bracketed set.
- Remove distortion from your photos
If the horizon isn't straight or vertical objects like buildings aren't vertical, you can quickly straighten your photo and fix perspective issues where lines don't look parallel when they should. These are particularly helpful features for architectural and landscape photographers.
- A more intuitive workflow
Whether you are working with a single image, or a bracketed set of photos, a more intuitive workflow makes it easier to load and choose images and proceed through to editing.

"The Academy of Model Aircraft(AMA), representing a large community of drone operators, has issued a  statement on the recently released National Transportation Safety Board(NTSB) report on the collision between a civilian (DJI Phantom) and a Black Hawk helicopter near Staten Island, New York this September.
The report – and the blame, in this case – is clear.  The drone operator was fully responsible for the incident.  The operator wasn’t only breaking every basic rule in the book – he was totally unaware of most of them.
The drone operator admitted to flying over 400 feet and at a distance of 2.5 miles away – well beyond visual line of site in an area that he understood was frequently shared.  He had no idea that was a problem.
The sUAS pilot indicated that he was not concerned with flying beyond visual line of sight, and he expressed only a general cursory awareness of regulations and good operating practices.”
The 10-page report is an embarrassment to responsible drone operators and an industry struggling to work with lawmakers on reasonable regulation"

The Inti Solace combines the technology developed by SlidX with solar energy and hopes to be able to intervene in disaster situations when needed. The goal of the solar unmanned transport aircraft is to respond quickly and reach disaster areas that are otherwise difficult to access, provide first aid via integrated man-machine interface, rescue shipwreck survivors, deploy emergency networks to medical personnels, fight wildfires, and protect endangered species.
The drone has a capacity for payload of 35 kg and is propelled by solar energy. According to the press release, “Beyond its main mission, the Inti Solace will have a battery of sensors capable of collecting and transferring the environmental data collected during its journey, enough to analyze over 6,000 km of marine and aerial environment.”

"Todays drones have some amazing technology on board that has revolutionized aerial photography:
• By connecting your smartphone to your handheld remote control unit, you can see on-screen exactly what the drone is viewing. This makes for perfect compositional adjustments.
• Camera controls are extensive – auto or full manual control, RAW capture, even time-lapse
• The drone will hover in the one spot with incredible stability, almost like an aerial tripod! You can take your hands off the controls and the drone will stay in that position.
• Failsafe flight options. With an average 20 minutes flight time per battery charge, the drone can detect when your battery is getting low and will go into RTH mode (automatic return-to-home), ensuring the drone comes back to you! If for some reason the lightbridge connection between the remote control and the machine itself is lost (this can happen when flying behind buildings or trees), once again RTH is activated. Another great use for the RTH feature is when you have lost sight of the drone, which is quite easy to do once it gets some distance away from you, by pressing the RTH button your flying camera will happily return to you before you know it.

"When you first start flying, it’s very exciting to get home, load your images, and marvel at the amazing scenes you have captured. In my first few weeks of flying, everything I took was thrilling. However, I quickly realized that aerial photography is no different to other forms of photography – it’s still all about the light! So rather than just heading out randomly, I once again started to chase the light and conditions, which has always been the strength of my landscape photography."
